Mission Statement

The Howell Valley R-1 Foundation was established to provide support and resources for the Howell Valley R-1 School. The mission of the foundation is to "promote community support for excellence in education, and to provide the resources for new projects and opportunities, in order to prepare our students to successfully meet the challenges of the future".

Previous Projects

The foundation has several projects and goals that have been completed.  They include:  installation of awnings to shelter students during parent pick up, a covered walkway between the elementary and middle school buildings, new floor coverings for the FEMA building, and new playground equipment.   

All Kids Bike Kindergarten Program

All Kids Bike® is a national movement, led by the Strider Education Foundation 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, to place Kindergarten PE Learn-To-Ride Programs into public schools.

The Kindergarten PE Program equips schools with everything teachers need to teach children how to ride bikes, including teacher training and certification, a structured 8-lesson curriculum, a fleet of Strider® 14x AKB-Specific Bikes, Pedal Conversion Kits, fully-adjustable helmets, one Strider 20 Bike for teacher instruction, and a five-year support plan.

Casus Baird Memorial Fund

The Howell Valley Foundation also manages the Casus Baird Memorial Fund, which was set up to honor long-time Howell Valley Superintendent, Mr. Casus Baird. This fund will be used to help with any school or teacher needs. If anyone wishes to make a contribution to this fund, please contact a HV Foundation member.
