It has been an extremely busy and exciting day at Howell Valley! 🍁🦃
We started our morning with the Rural School Concert, where our 3rd–8th grade choir members performed individually alongside the other rural schools and the high school. They did a fantastic job! 🎶
Next, we enjoyed our Thanksgiving Luncheon. A heartfelt thank you to all of our parents and community members who joined us today. Your presence made the day even more special. ❤️
Our first graders also put on an adorable Thanksgiving play that brought lots of smiles!
We are sharing photos of the families and community members who helped make today so memorable as well as choir and 1st grade play photos. A huge shoutout to our amazing cafeteria staff for working so hard to prepare this delicious meal—especially while navigating a boil order. We appreciate you! 🙌

🏆 Howell Valley Boys and Girls Make History with State Cross Country Trophies
Panthers become first Howell County school to earn Middle School State trophies; both teams medal and extend conference streaks.
The Howell Valley Panthers made school and county history this weekend, becoming the first Howell County school to earn a Middle School State Cross Country trophy. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams placed among the top four in Missouri, securing spots on the podium in the Class 1–2 divisions.
The top four teams in the state received trophies, and the Panthers proudly brought home two — with the girls finishing 4th and the boys achieving an impressive 3rd place finish at the State Championships held on Saturday, October 25.
Girls Make History
Leading the way for the Panther girls was Louise Dennison, who earned All-State honors with an 18th-place finish. Anna Temple made an inspiring comeback from an injury that sidelined her during the HCAA Conference Championships. Her performance on Saturday made her the first Panther in school history to become a two-time All-State cross country runner.
The girls also continued their dominance in conference competition just a few days prior, winning their seventh straight HCAA Conference Championship before heading to the State meet.
Girls’ State Meet Results:
Louise Dennison – 14:03.97
Anna Temple – 14:04.17
Aria Smith – 14:54.18
Jamy Jett – 15:10.76
Emmy Nickey – 15:41.15
Chloe Perkins – 15:51.17
Jenna Hart – 16:47.56
Sophia Hale – 17:20.19
Boys Earn Third and Extend Conference Streak
The boys’ team capped a dominant season by winning their sixth straight conference title on Thursday, then following up with a third-place finish at State.
Kaleb Scharnhorst led the way, earning All-State honors with a 22nd-place finish — becoming just the second boy in Howell Valley history to achieve that distinction.
Former Panther Joby Dixon, who graduated last year, set a high bar for the program with his 4th-place finish in the Class 4–5 division and a top-10 all-time mark of 11:26.87 on the 2-mile course.
Boys’ State Meet Results:
Kaleb Scharnhorst – 12:47.40
Max Mansfield – 13:18.90
Gavin Byrd – 13:36.70
Elliot Dennison – 13:44.20
Cooper Nickey – 13:59.00
Braylon Batchelor – 14:43.50
Graham Cobb – 14:52.30
Teigan Frommel – 16:04.70
A Special Birthday for Coach Dixon
The victories came on Coach Chad Dixon’s birthday, making the milestone even more special.
“This was the best birthday gift these kids could have given me,” Dixon said.
Coach Dixon also expressed gratitude to Assistant Coach Jessica Dixon, the PTO for providing Prime drinks throughout the season, and the parents who traveled to support the team.
“It’s truly a blessed school district and community to be a part of,” he added.
