Due to a sickness in the family and a scheduling conflict the boys will not practice tonight. There will still be girls 4-6th grade basketball from 4:00-5:30. Boys will practice tomorrow after school until 5:30 in the Old Gym. Sorry for the confusion.
Schedule for this Saturday's tournament was just released. 5th graders that want to play will play up on the 6th grade boys team. Game 1 is at 11:30. Game 2 is at 1:30, and Game 3 will be determined by our first two game results. The address to the Salem High School gym:

We will have a 4-6th grade girls and boys basketball practice Wednesday (1/24) from 4-5:30 for those that can make it. Please don't try if your roads are too risky. Grizzly Pee Wee basketball scrimmage follows at 7:00 at the Civic Center for those that can make it. See earlier message for details concerning Grizzly game. Thursday (1/25) after school will be 7-8th grade volleyball practice until 5:30. Friday volleyball Jamboree for A-Team after school. Saturday 5-6th grade boys basketball tournament in Salem, MO. Game times will be announced later.
Tomorrow night (1/24) is Howell Valley night at the Grizzly basketball game. HV students, teachers, and staff get free tickets at the gate. Regular ticket prices are $7 for all others. All 5th-6th grade boys and girls basketball players that would like to play a scrimmage game at halftime of the Grizzly game need to arrive at the Civic Center at 7:00. Please wear your HV basketball uniform. 4th grade basketball players can wear their uniforms and come sit on the bench with their teammates. If you do not yet have a HV uniform, please wear a black or white HV t-shirt. When you arrive please see Kevin and Megan Nickey to get organized for halftime.

The WP Grizzly basketball team has invited all Howell Valley students, teachers, and staff to join them as they take on Mineral Area College on Jan 24 at 7 pm at the WP Civic Center. Let’s show the Grizzlies how loud the Panthers can cheer! As a bonus, the HV Panther peewee basketball boys will be the halftime entertainment! All students and staff enter for free.
Wear your MSU-WP blue to school on the morning of Jan 24 to show your support for the Grizzlies! The players will be at HV at 7:30 am to greet all the kids as they arrive at school! Go, Grizzlies!

The Howell Valley Math Club participated in the 24-game competition. Our 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes all placed 1st and 2nd in the competition. Many of our students also earned individual awards. Way to go Panthers!!
Third and fourth graders enjoyed a trip to Mansfield where they had the opportunity to tour Laura Ingalls Wilder's home on Rocky Ridge Farm. The students also met and visited with published authors at the Children's Literature Festival.
Our elementary kiddos have been decorating our halls with some great artwork!

One of the things that makes Howell Valley such a special place is the parent and community support for our school. This year's Thanksgiving Celebration will be on Thursday, November 16.
All Howell Valley Families are invited to come celebrate along with retirees and special community guests. We will have lunch in shifts to accommodate everyone.
